During National Library Week, support local libraries by getting acupuncture. The Jefferson County Library Foundation’s mission is to support and enrich the capabilities, resources and services of Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) through fundraising and advocacy efforts that benefit their diverse community through:
- Early Childhood Literacy – including the popular1,000 Books Before Kindergartenyear-round program and the Raise A Readerweekend activity series that promotes parent/child interaction and helps children develop pre-reading skills.
- STEM/STEAM programs – that encourage teens and tweens (and especially girls!) to engage in hands-on science, technology, engineering and math projects at various JCPL branch locations.
- Summer Reading challenge – a family-oriented reading program that promotes reading all throughout the summer months as a safeguard to prevent children and teens from falling victim to a loss of literacy skills if they don’t keep on reading.
Date: Monday, April 22nd 9am-5pm – a portion of LCA proceeds will be donated to Water For People
On Earth Day, help people who do not have access to water by coming in for a treatment. Water For People envisions a world where every person has access to reliable and safe water and sanitation services. Water For People exists to promote the development of high-quality drinking water and sanitation services, accessible to all, and sustained by strong communities, businesses, and governments.
